Ian and Doug are 3rd Generation Commercial Fishermen with a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Together they have over 35 years of combined Commercial Marine experience and have worked from the Torres Straits to the New South Wales border on a variety of Commercial Vessels.
Working as Commercial Fisherman in Moreton bay for many years they thought it was about time to take locals, Day-Trippers and Tourists alike out into their backyard and show off the wonders of the Bay and started Just Cruiz'n Cruises in 2003. 2005 was our biggest year yet, with the birth of Doug's Eco Explorer and Ian's Moreton Bay Marine.
They were the First (And only) Tourism Operators to achieve Eco Tourism Accreditation in the Northern part of the Moreton Bay Marine Park.
Ian and Doug have an extreme passion for the Moreton Bay Marine Park. They are committed to Ecologically sustainable practices for both Industry & Recreational activities.Both Ian & Doug are committed to providing Marine Research, Education and Awareness programs within the 'Moreton Bay Marine Park.
Ian practically grew up on Moreton Bay, spending every spare bit of time on his Father's Trawler or Spear Fishing and boating with mates. Growing up with his Father's love of the Sea, Learning Spear Fishing, Diving, Boating and Sustainable Commercial Fishing from an early age, Ian became a Certified Diver on his 16th Birthday.
Ian is currently a Certified Master Class V (Unrestricted), Skipper Grade III & Marine Engine Driver (M.E.D) Grade III (Unrestricted) in addition to holding Qualifications in Business, Hazard Analysis, Transport & Distribution and Resource Management.
Moreton bay marine park is over 3500 square kilometers made up of 365 islands and is 125 kilometers in length.
It is the largest marine park so close to a major city in Australia, possibly the world, and is a truly unique place. It is home to the Dugong, whose numbers are steadily declining. Home to Hundreds of Bottle Nose & Indo Pacific Humpback Dolphins and don't forget the Green Sea Turtles and Migrating Humpback Whales (June To October)
